Purchased for the museum’s collections at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 in Paris.

An egg-shaped porcelain vase with an indented neck decorated with semi-matte drip glazes in shades of brown and beige, with the additional use of crystalline glaze and lustres. While George Vogt was the technical director at Sèvres (1880–1909), crystalline glaze was produced using zinc white and glazes enriched with copper oxide.
